The Sound of Wings of Freedom at the White House

Oil on canvas, 100 × 150 cm, 2021

Set within an architectural space strongly associated with official representation, this work shifts the portrait tradition onto a symbolic plane. The eagle—long embedded within American cultural memory—replaces the human face, pointing not to individual identity but to a collectively constructed image shaped by historical narratives. The space functions as a site where institutional presence and public memory intersect. Light articulates the distance between figure and architecture, allowing the notion of freedom to appear both as an idealized construct and as a fragile visual proposition.
